Vista 32 bit ultimate liscence key to windows 7 64bit ultimate

So I have this OEM disk of windows vista that I bought when it came out. I want to format a computer and install windows 7 64bit ultimate on it. How do I go about using my vista liscence key for that? Is it possible to do a key transfer or something? Microsoft's website is all about windows 8 and I cant find any information

You can't, you will need to buy a Windows 7 licence.

Sorry that's not possible

You could either stick to Vista or try to find a good deal on Windows 7 Ultimate. Or...

You could get Windows 10 instead, for free. I suggest you to join Windows 10 Insider program -- it's free and despite being a beta, it's quite stable (well, release is in one week so maybe that's why)

If you join you get Windows 10 for free and you start using the beta version immediately and you can update to the final release next week - for free! And this is a real license, it's not a trial, it never expires.
Warning - if you decide to do this, you gotta hurry, you only have a few days for that...
