Got an error that my windows 7 ultimate 64bit needs a new activation. I bought a legit W7 ultimate 64bit DVD and i typed in the code and got this error:

bit of an oddball this one.


you could try installing kb971033, reboot twice and hopefully it activates.


Why is it oddball
-- the report is quoting an obscure MSDN -NOT FOR RESALE product ID so if you bought it on the web its likely been sold multiple times
the error code 0XC004C008 generally refers to a blocked key. (to many activations)
a call to MS will confirm this.
