Volume Mixer problems

Hello,

For some reason when I turn the system volume to 0, other programs do not also go down to zero.

In the volume mixer, when master volume is at full, other programs are at full too, and when I move the master volume slider down, the other sliders go down too...

However when master volume is at 0, I can still hear sounds from other programs (itunes, dvds, browsers) as if they are stuck at 1 volume and not 0

Setting the other sliders to 0 mutes them, and hence when I up the master volume, they stay at 0 and do not go up

Anyone having/solved this?

I installed Ventrilo recently, i've searched other places for ventrilo related issues and win7, i had no problems at all installing running and connecting ventrilo with a usb mic and without running in compatibility modes

This problem seems like it could be a major issue... i mean... volume shouldn't be coming out of anything if the master volume is set to 0

any word?

FIXED i think

reloading the drivers (realtek) seems to have fixed it, but im not sure if it was ventrilo that triggered the initial problem or something else

Another problem-volume mixer & lan (vista)

I can't seem to put the LAN and VOLUME MIXER icons on the Notification area of the toolbar. You know, at the system icons. The clock and power can be checked but the volume and the network can't. I'm thinking it was deleted but I don't know much about it or if it can be deleted. Maybe some virus can be the problem but my antivirus doesn't seem to detect anything! I even looked at the Device Manager and failed to find it. So I'm seeking for help!

right click on taskbar >> select tab "task bar" >> click button customize >> check "allways show all icons and notification on the taskbar" checkbox >> click OK

AFAIK
1. master volume slider and application volume sliders must be at the same level if you wannt to control all from master slider
2. applicatin level slider can not be higher then master slider
3. if app. slider is lower then master slider, then it will be so many times/places slower in moving then master.
