You remember to install the driver/software for the webcam? If not you can find the Windows 7 version of it here,

Many thanks. That is a later version than I had found on Microsoft site so I will give it a try. It works in Messenger (which I prefer) but not Skype and I have a couple who won't try messenger. Cheers
