you can install equal versions student to student. the change from 64 to 32 will require a clean install and format.

You can clean install with either the upgrade or full editons

Hope this helps

Welcome Dn to windows 7 forums, regretably you don't have backward compatability as the 64 bit kernal will not function in a x86 environment. You will have to do a complete install over the 64 bit, your windows copy if purchased from a store such as Office/Max or best buy will contain both 32 bit and 64 bit.

Adrian

Well you did not tell me what I wanted to here but I asked for expert advice so I will go back the Campus book store and see if I can exchange it for a 32 bit copy, but I believe you have convinced me to do a clean install in either case. I have had nothing but heartache with Vista 64. My wife has Vista 32 and has had very little trouble with it, I just hate to have a 64 bit processer and not use it, any suggestions’?
Respectfully,
DNKD

Your Windows 7 license allows you to either use 32 or 64 bit. Retail packages should include both. Maybe student versions skimp on this, but you might try calling MS tech support (included with any retail purchase) and ask for the 32 bit disk as some have had it sent to them without charge.
