Hello.
I found your forum, from this thread.
http://www.sevenforums.com/browsers-mail/64540-ok-really-ever-going-fixed.html

W7 Pro, 32 bit
IE 8

iexplore.exe8.0.7600.163854a5bc69emshtml.dll8.0.7600.164904b2c9557c0000005001db86f103001cb926a588fe516C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exeC:\Windows\System32\mshtml.dll86aaf400-0080-11e0-85ae-0018f390ede2

Event ID 1000
task category (100)

I had 5 to 8 instances of IE8 open, in "private browsing" mode.
The instance of IE that crashed was running multiple tabs.
Prior to the crash, a popup appeared [ even though I have IE's internet options > "privacy" tab "turn popup blocker on" checked. The popup had netflix.com near the left of the title bar.

Thanks for your help.

Are you saying that IE8 works fine until you open more than one tab and then it always crashes?

No. I apologize for not properly stating the situation.

The issue is intermittent. If the issue occurred every time, I would have performed IE troubleshooting; start with no add ons; W7 in safe mode w/ networking, et al.

The problem occurred, THIS time, when I had multiple [ 10 + ] tabs open in 1 browser instance; 4 to 7 other IE instances open; each with 1 to 3 tabs open for each of the other instances of IE8.

This is how MS defines popup: "A pop-up is a small web browser window that appears on top of the website you're viewing. Pop-up windows often open as soon as you visit a website and are usually created by advertisers." If that is what is happening with popup blocker on, then I'd try to reset IE using Tools/Internet Options/Advanced/Reset.

I have little experience with multiple tab crashes. Usually I have only one window at a time open which may contain 6-12 tabs. IE does often "not respond" but that doesn't seem to be related to tabs; more like my processor is busy.

Thanks for the information about the popups & blocking them.

My intent was not to have that issue addressed [ again, my communication skills are lacking these days ], but instead to mention that issue I thought there might be a connection between that issue & my primary concern about IE8 crashing.

Thus, I would like to return to my primary concern which is IE8 crashing.

Thanks for your help.
