Wallpaper changer not working

I have been running Windows 7 quite happily for about a year and I have always used the wallpaper changer feature as I become easily fed up with the same picture. This has worked fine until a couple of days ago when one particular photo in the sequence has become stuck. If I right click on it and select "next desktop background" nothing happens. When I right click and choose Personalise, everything looks as it should - all the pics in my slideshow are ticked and are set to change every hour with the shuffle option turned on. I have tried renaming the folder where the wallpapers are stored and tried to change the wallpaper manually to something else but the picture on the desktop refuses to budge - even though the folder it is in has been renamed, so how is Windows finding it??

It would appear something has become corrupt but what - and how do I resolve things?

:(

Resolved the issue (at least for me). This had to do with the Power schemes. Do this

Type edit power plan in the Start Search box, and then click Edit power plan.
Click Change advanced power settings.
Select Available in Desktop background settings->Slide show.
That's it you should see the background changing.

Hopefully that helps.

Genius!

Thanks so much. Your solution worked. I never changed that setting, but somehow it was paused. Once I selected "available" ...BINGO!
