I have been searching with no solution in changing the background in the logoff of W 7 during the process of "saving my settings" and "shutting down";I did it but no recollection how I did it about 2 months ago. I did not do a registry hack and certain that it was through the Personalization in Control Panel. I'm only assuming this as while I was adding desktop wall paper a couple of days ago in "change the visuals and sounds of you computer" I clicked on either a picture in My Themes or Aero Themes that changed both the desktop wallpaper and logoff screen to a Windows 7 standard theme. The logoff wallpaper can not be found but the desktop wallpaper stayed in My Themes.
I have found some simple programs that whatever new logon wallpaper is added,it will be the same wallpaper for the logoff background.

Thanks

This machine was given to me when my dad bought a new computer. I keep throwing upgrades at it and it keeps on ticking. Think I've done everything to it that can be done outside a PSU upgrade so I can run an even BETTER GPU.
Hello Graybeard, and welcome to Seven Forums.

I found that the program in OPTION ONE of the tutorial below works the best to change the log on screen background wallpaper. The log on screen consists of the Welcome, Ctrl+Alt+Del, Shutdown, Lock Computer, Switch User, Log On, and Log Off screens.

Hope this helps,
Shawn

Appreciate the fast responses but neither will seem to work. Both are Logon and not by itself a "logoff" wallpaper changer. I believe that both small programs in what is selected for a logon wallpaper will be the same for the logoff. If one of these does wallpaper independent from the other, I apologize and would appreciate the step that I'm overlooking in the program.

Graybeard,

Sorry, but as far as I know they cannot be changed independently since they (Welcome, Ctrl+Alt+Del, Shutdown, Lock Computer, Switch User, Log On, and Log Off) all use the same background as what the log on screen is set as. :(
