Ok my question is simple! Which one is the better drive out of the 2 in overall Performance, Storage, Gaming, Apps etc?

WD Caviar Green 64MB Cache vs. WD Caviar Blue 16MB Cache

Please stick to these 2 drives only.. Dont start jumping on Blacks are better than Blue etc.

I'd guess the blue due to platter RPM alone. I haven't checked, but assume the blue is 7200 and the green 5400.

You might be able to find some specific comparisons/tests online. I haven't looked.

I'm assuming these are both recent generation drives and not several years old.

All fans PWM; speeds at idle: CPU circa 500 rpm; intake circa 600 rpm; exhaust circa 600 rpm; CPU temps 27 idle and 47 C load in a warm room (27 C/81 F) when running Intel Extreme Tuning Utility stress test.

I'd have to agree. The blue drives should outscore the green drives in benchmarks, but not by much.
