WD MY BOOK Premium Edition 1TB External

Above is configured for Raid 0 or stripping and is a 1 TB as opposed to two 500 GB. External works fine on Win 7 but the Raid software that allows you to configure does not work.

Anyone else running this external disk?

yes, but not as RAID.

have you tried installing the software in compatibility mode, or troubleshoot the software?

Just found out WD has done away with the button manager program and has a new manager program. You also have to upgrade the firmware in the drive. I could not get it to upgrade in Win 7 so I booted into Win xp and did the firmware upgrade. I was then able to install the manager software in both Win xp and Win 7. So now everything works. All updates downloaded from WD.
