(Webpage) not responding

Greetings. My home page is Yahoo and when I start reading the topics, I am interrupted with (website) is not responding and then I have to click on to the "recover" webpage. It's happening too much now. Help

You show you have Mcafee installed in your system spec's :shock:

You also don't say which browser you're using.
You can try In-Private browsing by right clicking ie11/ Firefox/... if pinned to the taskbar.

Try clearing cache and temporary internet files.

I don't have McAffee. Have Avast about a month now and also Security Essentials but the condition was there before McAffee. Too, I am using Google Chrome for browser. Beowulf1: RE;l clearing cache and cookies; That is the first thing I did and I have been doing it on a regular schedule. I have been getting other interruptions but not as many as the one I'm getting now: i.e. IE has stopped working, Yahoo isn't responding and there are other but those are the most prominent. I have IE11 and sometimes I get a popup telling me to install i
when I already have it.

Hi,
I'd remove MSE if you use Avast
Having both installed will not make you more secure actually you will be less secure because they will eventually clash
Not to mention computer resources are wasted on them both which Avast is better anyway.

Be sure after removing MSE - Microsoft security essentials you also disable Windows defender too.

Did you use Mcafee uninstaller ?
It is difficult to fully remove usually requires a clean install of windows.
