hey forum, please i need someone to help narrow down this weird problem im having,
just recently my pc started to not shut down when i click shutdown, monitors turn off and the pc stays running, same with restarting....and the crazy thing is sometimes it does shut down and restart...but when it does, it starts everything fans hdd hardware fires up and then i just get a black screen....i have to keep pressing restart till i get the asus splash screen only then would it go through...i don't get random shutdowns or blue screens once im in windows, but i just don't get why i keep on having to push restart button till the asus splash screen shows up....when it doesn't it just stays black then i restart over and over till the splash screen...could this be a failing motherboard?
im really flustered guys....don't really have money for a new board ram and cpu....although i would kill for the 6700k z170 board for oculus gaming....im just too broke.

Asus p8z68 V/Gen3
Intel i5 2500k over clocked to 4.2 can go to 4.6
Gigabyte GTX 970s x2 sli
Kingston hyper x blu 16 4 sticks 1333
NZXT 1000 hal 90 psu
coolit vantage alc cpu cooler
Level 10 GT case
windows 7 64 pro
