What could suddenly cause these 3 similar programs from loading?

Is there anything I can do to fix these other two errors?

CSI C Mark Deployment Missing Total count: 2
-----------------------------------------

In addition to those 2 windows update related errors I have this issue:

When try to do an sfc scan I get this error message:

"Windows Resource Protection could not start the repair service"

On the internet it told me to go to "start" and type "services.msc" and open "windows module installer" and make sure it is startup type is set to "manual". When I change that to manual and do the SFC scan again, I get this message: "There is a system repair pending which requires reboot to complete. Restart Windows and run SFC again."

However, rebooting doesn't help - each time I have to go into windows module installer and change the startup type to manual before I can get the command prompt to run the SFC scan. And each time it comes back with the same message telling me to reboot.

Any ideas on either of these problems?

That's still the old CheckSUR log?
You have to run/install the download again first! :)

Actually, I did run it over again. I clicked on the download which was in my downloads folder and ran the whole thing all over again. Don't know what's up with it.

But, I do have a bigger problem now. NONE of my programs will open. Not even IE or Firefox. I'm on a computer at the library. I restarted, even in safe mode but every time i go to open a program i get this message:

The application failed to start because it's side-by-side configuration is incorrect.

Today when I booted up I got another disk boot failure message, and had to restart the computer. Instead, i put in my Windows 7 disk and restarted it, and did what A Guy mentioned. From the install disk I went into compair my computer and opened the command prompt. Did the diskpart command, and then list volume. Then the chkdsk /r/f d: command. But, it didn't verify/repair filesystem and mark any bad sectors like it was suppose to. Instead it just gave me what looked like a list of commands and what they do like this:

ACTIVE
ADD
ASSIGN
ATTRIBUTES
ATTACH
AUTOMOUNT
BREAK
CLEAN
etc....

Not knowing what to do, I did the next command: sfc/scannow/offbootdir=C:\ /offwindir=d:\windows

Again, it did nothing but give me what looked like a list of commands and what they do. So I exited. When i restarted my computer none of the programs would work and i got that message: The application failed to start because it's side-by-side configuration is incorrect

Anything I can do to fix this issue? Sounds like my problems are getting worse. Would i be better off just to do a clean install of the OS? I didn't want to do that, but what esle can i do if none of my programs will open?

Diskpart is a very different beast - please stay away from it for the moment.
Boot to the Repair Environment again, load the Command Prompt window and run
CHKDSK D: /R
direct from the propmpt there - wait until it's finished (could be a looooong time!) , then reboot and see what happens

Ok, I will try that.

But, from what I read online, it sounds like this issue with with none of my programs loading has to with the microsoft C++ Visual ... Like i need to uninstall and reinstall them or something.

Btw, I tried to run the Windows Update Standalone Installer again. No wonder the dang thing runs all day long - it doesn't work. I went into the event viewer and there were numerous errors in system that says:

The Windows module installer service terminated unexpectedly. It just keeps trying to run, but it keeps terminating. It had terminated over 300 times.

In application event viewer it says:

Faulting application path: C:\windows\servicing\trustedinstaller.exe
faulting module path: C:\windows\system32\ntdll.dll

I don't know if that info helps or not.

TrustedInstaller not starting can be dues to a large number of errors.
I'll take a look at the Event Logs - it may help identify the cause...

Open Event Viewer

click on theWindows logs entry in the left pane to expand it.

Now click on theApplication entry - wait while it loads.

Click on 'File'in the menu bar and select Save...

Save the file asAppevt.evtx

Repeat for theSystem log

then zip both,and upload them.

With the two system files that wouldn't repair, the windows update issues, my computer not wanting to boot when I start it, and absolutely none of my programs working, I finally gave in and just reinstalled the OS. I didn't want to have to do that, but it seemed like things were getting worse and I couldn't even get on the internet. With your help, I might have been able to fix these issues eventually, but I didn't want to have to go back and forth to the library everyday. That and I hate being without the internet.

Everything seems to be okay now with a fresh new install. I thank you guys for all your help though.
