What did this PSU do to my pc!!

Hello there,

So, today I got a new PSU, which is OCZ StealthXStream 600W, installed it and connected everything then tried to startup the pc, the LEDs on the motherboard lit but they were shaking, no image appeared on the monitor and the MB didn't beep or anything..

So I tried switching Rams etc but everytime I startup the computer the MB LEDs just shake like crazy and nothing happens, so I installed my old PSU and the MB LEDs lit just fine with no shakes or anything but only 1 my of 2 Rams worked, tried switching rams on all my Channel DIMMs but no luck, only 1 DIMM (which is on channel 2) and 1 ram were working, the other 3 appeared to be dead even when I tried different rams..

So now what can I do? did the OCZ PSU do this? is there anyway I can test the dead 3 DIMMs without installing a RAM on them? When I send back the PSU to the shop, what should I say exactly?

Is it over for this MB? if yes then I'm gonna buy GA-EP41 since that's the only 1 that I can find right now, it's almost exactly like my P31 except that it has dual BIOS and supports up to 8g rams, I only need to use it for a year then I will buy a new pc so I don't really need a MB that supports "future upgrade"..

The normal way to test RAM is to use this application:

Memtest86+ - Advanced Memory Diagnostic Tool

I would put in the old PSU and test the RAM. You may have to test one stick at a time. Let Memtest run mulitiple times, not just one pass.

Well, the pc doesn't even load anything when I put any ram in the 3 "supposedly dead" DIMMs..

When you say 'DIMMs", do you mean slots?

What do you think is dead--slots on your motherboard or sticks of RAM?

If you have only one good slot, test each stick individually in that good slot.

If the slots are truly dead, a new PSU or new RAM will not help.

Yes, I meant slots, sorry about that, I don't really know all the correct hardware definitions yet.

I think the slots are dead, and 1 of my 2 rams died right after starting up with the new PSU.

I tested the dead stick on the only working slot and it doesn't work.

I contacted the store and they will replace the PSU with a new 1, I'm probably gonna buy a new MB from there too if there is no other solution.
