As far as I can tell, that's already a powerful rig. Make sure you install the latest drivers to gain the highest performance/quality possible.

Thanks ! well I've been reading around some forums and it seems that flight simulator looks like gets better performance from the CPU than the video card. I'm putting something together for my brother in law for his birthday so I'll take any advice you guys got for a superior rig to run flight simulator X flawlessly.

I would advise against the corsair H100 unless you plan on extreme overclocking (5Ghz+), the stock H100 fans are insanely noisy even on moderate speed settings. Replacing the fans with premium fans is not cheap. (I use 4 noctuas in push/pull for mine and its silent running at max speed)

There are other options that will run you around 1/5th the cost of that cooler. May I suggest you look into Newegg.com - COOLER MASTER Hyper 212 EVO RR-212E-20PK-R2 Continuous Direct Contact 120mm Sleeve CPU Cooler Compatible with latest Intel 2011/1366/1155 and AMD F-M1/AM3+ -I checked the ram you listed, and it does not appear to have heatsinks, so the EVO should clear it.

The money you save might be enough to snag a 60GB SSD to use as your boot drive. Which makes a HUGE difference in overall performance.

The 2500K is a solid sweet spot as far as processors go, I would stick with that.

The corsair H100 cooler is simply overkill unless you are shooting for big overclocks. Either use the stock fan or if you insist on an aftermarket cooler, go with a Hyper 212+ for around $30.

You won't need an 850 watt power supply for this build. Honestly, you won't even need 500 watts for this build. I would seriously look at something in the 600 watt range and that will give you room to expand down the road. My PSU preferences are Corsair, Seasonic and Antec.

16GB of RAM is overkill too. Unless you are getting it insanely cheap, I would go with 4-8GB of RAM instead and use the saved money to put towards an SSD which would make a far more substantial improvement.

If you intend to simply move the hard drive and put it in another box and have it boot right up and work, prepare for some problems. There will be tons of driver changes and such for the mobo, activiation of the OS will need to be performed again, etc. I would never in a million years just move a hard drive from an old box to a new box. Always start with a fresh clean install of the OS and build from there.
