What do you want to see in IE9?

how about an integrated d/l manager that doesn't suck. Firefox's downloader always locks up and craps out a lot of the time. IE8's is no better, it has issues as well. so if you could actually resume downloads, if something should fail, i'd welcome it with open arms.

IE needs a simplification of the GUI, a comprehensible settings window and an urgent overhaul of its responsiveness, IE7/8 is the slowest of all the current browsers.

IE8 has some minor glitches, but its ultra-fast, that reflects in downloads and web browsing. I hope in IE9 that speed continues, and the security reches the point of perfection, so we can leave all thrid party apps to clean spyware everytime we surf around.

well do MS listen?

1 - multi row tabs (this seems obvious and is in all competitor products).
2 - ability to easily set per site cookie and security options, so revamp the option pages.
3 - advanced error pages, rather than rubbish like "your internet connection may be down unable to connect to website" I know that isnt the exact wording but the wording they use which tends to blame the internet connection on a simple timeout can be very misleading.
4 - menu bar at top by default (another one that seems obvious)
5 - faster cache handling, why does it take over 2 or 3 seconds sometimes to load a page from disk/ram cache?
6 - reduced resource usage.

I fear instead microsoft will just work on jam packing more new features in.

My only problem with IE for now is the long time for it to launch.

It takes about 3 - 5 seconds to launch if it does not have any add-ons or toolbars.
More than 10 seconds if there are many toolbars and add-ons interrogated.

I'd avoid using IE if I can but certain sites still requires it (Mostly microsoft.com). Let it launch as fast as Google Chrome and I might use it more often.

Havent chage to Chrome yet, for now IE (all of them, almost) opens and reacts instantly. If the problem is taking too long opening and launching tabs, probably you need a format or ugrade.

Lol not really. You can't believe how many bundled toolbars I got when installing softwares. Let's see, I have:

Wikipedia Toolbar
AOL Toolbar
Amazon Toolbar
Crawler Toolbar
RoboForm password manager trial

Yeah, I installed some of them myself because of all the features they say they have . I don't keep them all enabled but they contribute to the launching time. I also have other add-ons like Download Accelerator Plus and the like.

Can't be bothered to uninstall them. If I ever need to use IE, I'd use the IE8 (No Add-Ons).

Yes, really. I was talking about TABS and not toolbars.

A fresh IE on a fresh windows, followed by proper configs and harware, will run and launch instantly. I dont see the point in having it bloated with toolbars and add-ons, but just dont keep saying it is slow, because thats obvious.

IE gets faster speeds on network transfers than FF, but I like how FF handles remembering passwords on a sites, IE it's all or nothing kind of thing, and FF it gives you the option per site... And Adblock plus is awesome, but that's the developer who doesn't know how to port it to IE cause he's retarded and lazy.
