I just finished up Metro2033, but I need to play through again and try for the good ending.

I gave up on that game. Just didn't like it, and the bloody gas mask thing got on my nerve.

Nice graphics but I don't see me finishing it. Did the same with STALKER - played it a little and put it away forever.

Yeah same with me, i played STALKER for a few hours and never touched it again.

Same on Stalker. Good thing I got it on sale for $5 on STEAM.



I just finished the DEMO of DA2. TBH, Im not sure what to think about it.
It seems more action oriented now.

And, Isabella, the duelist from the tavern in DAO, well ...
I couldnt decide if she was supposed to be a talented rouge or a PornStar.

I dunno, maybe just me but it didnt impress me much from the Demo.
But, there was a lot of stuff locked too so, perhaps the full game would be a bit better.
A bit hard to tell from the DEMO.

And the one other character from the 1st game was back, although she casme out OK in the new game.

Installed Postal2 STP and AW and AWP7 yesterday. Did a few ut03-04 tweaks and had to make some tweaks so it works with my wide screen monitor- Looks and runs great- It is a hoot of a game- Tons of different characters etc..

I have not done a single quest yet- I was just walking around and picking up all the goodies I could find- Walking on power lines etc to get on top of buildings what ever- hack up a few bots here or there pick up some cats etc.

It is over the top crazy fun.. Every 1 should play postal2 least 1x- its a riot. Postal dude is my hero..

::EDIT I did a few more tweaks- upped af from 4x to 8x- so it looks even better now- I set max frame rate for it to try and hold it to 40fps- It runs at near or over 100fps or so if not recording- If I turn on fraps recording it drops to 25fps which is what I have fraps set to record at [I never tell fraps to lock the fps]- but its smooth as silk playing- If running af at 6 or 4x its like 70 or more fps while recording- I do not really care about all of that as long as it runs smooth while recording- 25fps is plenty fine to see all tracers etc flying around- So 8x af it is.. Fun Stuff..

Postal 2 is the only game in existence where I can truly go ALL-OUT-PSYCHO!!! AND I LOVE IT xDDD

i agree with all these points.

stalker didn't grab me - i tried, but decided wasn't worth my time.

also just finished da2 demo - i wasn't particularly overwhelmed by the experience.

the graphics were good, and the engine solid. wasn't sure about the ui though, very minimal in places and too much in others, such as the upgrade abilities screen. i suppose you would quickly get used to it though after an hour or two.

i see what you mean about isabella - all the female characters seem to have either incredible genes, or serious enhancement surgery - although thinking about it, it's probably all done by magic.

it was only a small demo, and not much data to go on, but so far the characters seemed flat, including the voice-acting - there was none of the magic sparkle between alistair and morrigan, for instance. hopefully the full game will be different.

the character who comes back sure makes an impressive appearance, and looks good for her age.

oh - anyone else notice tiny little pauses during dialogue? maybe i need a new pc...

Yes, frequent pausing and hitching between diaglogs here as well.

I have my Old Vertex SSD I usually keep 2 games on, (the current 2 I play the most) but left the DA2 demo on my main game drive.

Perhaps the SSD would help this? It would be worth a try.

I thought It may have just been me TBH, because my main game drive is a Spinner & is over half full. And the DEMO was at the end of that drive.

I agree with all your points as well Mickey.
There just seems to be something ... missing.

But I did like the other character


I cant help but think, what made DA so great IMO was the story and dialog. Hopefully those elements are actually in DA2, and we just do not really get experience them in the Demo.

i installed the demo on my ssd - it's only 2 gigs.

maybe my pauses would have been worse had it been on my spinner?

let's hope it's just the demo - i have a feeling i'll get the game eventually...for content tourism if nothing else.

I finished the postal 2 awp7 yesterday- I am a lil sad the ending is not open- I have to start another game- cheats what ever are open- I never use cheats- I did set for enhanced game this time tho.

I am not sure I started a new game right- I just started a new game - but did not delete old saved games- so its not give me slots to save games- tho I can overwrite saves that are there- easy save works- I was afraid to delete my saved games- I did not know if it would kick the unlocked stuff or not.

I am a lil sad it is not open ended when you complete the 7 day game- its loads of fun tho- I will play it again.. I might install stalker soc again and patch 1.0004. I do not really want to install most of my games until I can get a better video card.

p2 runs great- I tweaked it and to 8x af in game files- I am a lil said my scopes are stretched side to side a lil- I am not sure how to fix it- I set the game for my wide screen and fov- Thing is some directions are not exactly right- some paths said to take are not there or files not there or some lines in files not there- or some things are named different.

Some is ok ut03 engine is very customizable- you can add some lines missing or removed in later patches etc. But instructions say add fov for all user ini' for main and each add on- it is no user ini for awp7- just the one for aw and main game- so I could not make those changes- I am not sure if that is the odd scopes or not? guess I could try and google- I can use it fine- just looks odd is all..

Tempted to install farcry2 again- Best I hold out for a better vid card tho..

Currently playing Halo 1 and Portal (Eagerly awaiting Portal 2). When launched the games give the 'unknown/unsupported' video hardware error, but in spite of that, they run beautifully. Halo 1 with all details on high, at 60fps will perpetually make me gaze in awe.

Man I really like Halo. How's it playing on your Windows 7 x64-bit? Did you have to do tweaks to get it to run? Halo 2 won't run under 7 for some reason, at least for me. Haven't tried Halo though.

I'm telling you if you can look past the game play it's a good game with a great story. Once I got used to the style of play I loved it.

It is a PITA if you're not use to it. As a FPS gamer I hated it and nearly gave up myself - Lost with Dragon Age: Origins - Rage3D Discussion Area
