What Is Better Blue Ray or HD DVD?

The quality of a blu ray depends more on the effort undertaken in the transfer from the film.
You can't beat a good blu ray transfer IMO eg. Casino Royale.
The frustration of key/security changes could kill the industry for the people who stand the most to gain - dumb marketing.

The difference between HD DVD and Blu-Ray is that HD is supported by companies like Microsoft and Intel. HD DVD's hold about 15GB, and longer movies have a greater chance of being broken up into two disks. Blu-ray is supported by companies like Sony and Samsung. Blu-ray disks hold about 30GB and almost always have extra scenes since they hold so much information.

So which one you will choose now? It is for all who have their own choice. After this reply how will get turn from their answers.

HD DVD's hold about 15GB, and longer movies have a greater chance of being broken up into two disks.

Actually HD DVD's held 15GB per layer, and there were dual layer disks (just like DVD's). So, HD DVD could hold around 30GB on a single physical disk. BR can hold 25GB per layer, and 50GB on a second layer. I'm unsure of how many extras have been included on BR versus HD-DVD, since I never invested in the HD-DVD technology.

Blue Ray has HUGE storage capability, and also offers far more in the way of add-on, and just about any of the bells and whistles you could ever want. It still comes down to personal preference, but at the moment Blue Ray players are very expensive, while HD DVD players are relatively cheaper by comparison, however, with the massive storage, extras, and no need for multiple disks, Blue Ray feels more appealing under that definition.

Where can you even get HD DVD players? I haven't seen one in years. And BluRay players are quite cheap these days. I'm unsure of the point you are trying to make.
