What is events.webflowmetrics.com?

This turned up in cookies to be deleted when I ran ccleaner a few days ago.

I found it odd since I don't accept cookies or 3rd party cookies in Firefox except the ones that I type in to be allowed. When I push the show cookies button in Firefox it does not appear there. I decided to block it anyway in Firefox and thought that worked but it still seems to pop up sometimes when I run ccleaner.

I've ran Spybot S&D,Superantispyware,Malwarebytes Anti-Malware and Microsoft Security Essentials and get nothing.

I've done some searches on it and got nothing informative. I can't really tell if this thing is harmless or not.

I have another laptop with a similar set up except its Windows 7 32bit visit alot of the same sites on it but no events.webflowmetrics.com cookie.

Even if it is harmless(I HOPE!) how do I get rid of it? Thanks in advance!

It's registered to Zoombli, maker of some programs. Perhaps one you are using?

Thanks for the reply. Is this events.webFLOWmetrics.com? I looked around my system and in the registry didn't find anything related to that company or their products.

It's quite likely you picked up the cookie visiting a website. Even though FF is set to not accept 3rd party cookies. In searching I find all kinds of references to webflowmetrics and Zoombli

I believe it isn't malicious, but it is a tracking cookie. If it keeps showing up, it may be a page you are visiting again? I do see it pop up on some adblock lists. Sorry, not much help. A Guy

I decided to try Windows 8 and guess what! This cookie shows up still with ccleaner along with onlinestores.metaservices.microsoft.com cookie.

One thing I noticed is that that these cookies have IE logos when I run ccleaner and I don't even run IE. I always uninstall it when I do a new Windows installation.

I don't get any of this on my 32 bit windows install.

Any ideas?

I have found that some programs use the same cache as IE, and place their own cookies there. If that is the case, I don't think there is much that you can do about it, other than not use the offending program...or use something like Cookie Muncher:

I don't know how good it is, but it might be worth a shot.
