I see the home group and sharing options. It's just me here. I have no one to be sharing with. Is it talking about outside people?

No. It's only talking about sharing within the people in your Homegroup. If you have no one else in your Homegroup, you won't be sharing with anyone, unless you explicitly allow a folder or hard disk share. You would have to jump through some hoops to do that (it takes a little fiddling to do), so no worries about that. Be aware that sharing a folder or hard drive can be a bit of a security risk, so it's best not to do that.

But the short answer to your question is no. You'll be all right.

Some others on this subject are talking about sharing my information with other computers in the house. wouldn't that be automatic when I log in somewhere else?

Your files are stored on each of unless you use one drive or Google drive some settings follow you if you use Windows ten so n another PC you may need to access the other PC via sharing to get a file

No it`s not talking about outside people.

It`s talking about all your computers in the house, they are on the same network, because they are all connected to the same router/switch etc.

You can share data between each PC, music, etc, even a usb printer can be shared.
