A)Is it compatible with my motherboard GA-X38-DS4?
B)Is it faster than my 150GB veliciraptor?
C)Is it safe and reliable for C:\ (OS win 7 64bit)?

Is there any way or website to compare the speed of those 2(two)?
I mean...for example if the speed of velociraptor 150gb is 100 read/write and Revodrive 80gb is 120 read/write forget it.

Ughhh.....it's not the read/write speeds which make SSD's incredible, it's the ability to get to each and every file on the drive with 0.1ms access times or less which make SSD's so fast. No mechanical hard drive even comes close.

According to OCZ, the specs are as follows on the 120GB + drives.

• Read: Up to 540 MB/s
• Write: Up to 480 MB/s
• Sustained Write: Up to 400 MB/s
• Random Write 4KB (Aligned): 75,000 IOPS

Don't Leap Yet

The drive is a speed demon. But before I bought it I would look into it a little farther. I did see on their site some boards listed that had a problem seeing the installed card. I would check with my MB manufaturer first and I would look for a forum where that people are using or try it.

I do not think the REVO is PCI-e. It is just a PCI x4.
It is actually 2 SSD's RAIDED togather for a PCI x4 bus.?????? Its reads are listed 500MB/s +.
Indilinx - Vertex, Agility, Turbo, Solid V2, Colossus and Z-Drive with Microsoft OS..

SATA have a cap of 700MB/s. Using PCI x4 allows for faster bus rate.

Im very curious to see how fast it will install my win7 ultimate 64bit.Start/restart/shutdown.
How fast install a game,start a game,install programs,unistall.
Open programs.

panais, The write speed will be good but it will be the way the computer functions when all the OS and Apps are on it and you first boot and want to pull up your programs. Try opening Photoshop for giggles and be amazed ! Snappy just doesn't do it justice.

Here are a couple of quick YouTube video clips I put together when I got my 80GB Intel X25-M G2.

In this first video, I boot the computer from a power button press. Notice how long post takes, versus getting to the logon screen. Then, notice from logon screen to desktop is nearly instant from the time I press enter. You will hear a significant click at 1:01 as I press enter. Notice my background, icons, and everything is simply "there".


In this second video, I launch "Return to Castle Wolfenstein". At the start, it does a cd check...which "REALLY" slows the process down. But once that completes, you will see that the machine just blows through the load and gets me back into the game super fast. Then, it exits out of the game crazy fast as well. Note, I rebooted right before I ran this video...none of this is preloaded into RAM or anything else.

it's a pity there isn't a before and after comparison - maybe in a split-screen video.

your pc is faster than mine in all specs start,shut down,start game just just few seconds.
I hope ocz revo is faster,i dont want to pay 300 for for 2-3 or 5 secs.

I've never had games load anywhere near this fast, not even with RAID 0 raptor configurations. My applications and desktop are just extremely quick...not to mention scans like malwarebytes take less than 1 minute on my box now.

Perhaps it's not worth it to all, but compared to CPU upgrades and RAM upgrades...this was the biggest change in performance that I have seen in a long time.
