Juat want to use the older hdd as ,mere storage device.If I use it will the bad sectors in that drive would affect the new drive also?
Can I remove bad sectors by seagate dos tools for toshiba brand

You can use a HDD with bad sectors, but you can't trust it as it is dying. Soon or latter it will die.
Bad sectors is a hardware failure. It can be marked as un usable but can't be fixed.

If you do decide to use that HDD make sure you keep good backups of the data you are trusting to it.


With an HDD the questions isn't IF it will fail but WHEN.
