What security setup do you have?

After reading about Microsoft Security Essentials I decided to install it.
I still have McAfee suite running and will just wait and see what happens.
Anyone have any issues int he past?

UAC to Default

I manually scan and run the following every week or so.
SpyBot Search and Destroy
Malewarebytes
CClean

So now you have both MSE and Mcafee in real-time?

Yes I did have both running in real time with no issues or conflicts at all.
Toady I have removed McAfee and now running and testing MSE alone.

4. Comodo Firewall

None of those should conflict with each other. I would say that you should be fine.

NAT firewall, Zone Alarm Internet Security, (tbh id probably use AVG and no software firewall if it wasnt for the fact i like to know when an app is trying to phone home, youd be amazed how many do....)

and yea thats a really bad setup... just do eset and comodo if its what you like but other avs arent necesary....

if you dont believe me... try to scan a World of Warcraft Installer with eset (with the other avs installed) or some really large Installers and you'll see what I mean... but aslong as you wanna waste resource dont mind my post

I bet you're CPU usage atm is not behaving good even at idle lol!

Exactly. I have 2 teenagers in the house. They're both the same as I was when I was that age and are completely incapable of just using a computer without trying to change things. It doesn't take more than 3 seconds for either of them to start trying to download or install more crap on my computer whenever they use it for "homework". Instead of yelling at them. I have the entire hdd frozen.

Other AV's? What are you talking about? He doesn't have any other AV's in his list:

1. ESET Antivirus 4
2. Malwarebytes Anti-Malware[with protected mode on]
3. Threatfire
4. Comodo Firewall

ESET for anti virus.
Malwarebytes for things that slip by Nod32 and other types of malware.
Threatfire as a behavior blocker.
Comodo for firewall.

Nothing wrong with that setup at all and nothing overlaps the other IMO. The only thing that might be a bit of overkill is TF and Comodo especially if you have D+ enabled in Comodo, although I'm personally never against more protection, depending on what type of sites you may visit.

Personally, if you are thinking about something like A-squared, take a good look at Prevx. I think it's better. The free version will detect any issues, but won't remove them. I paid for the full version which has real-time protection. Works great with another free AV like Avast or MSE as well.

have not long reverted back to avira free,which along with the windows 7 firewall with default settings and windows defender seem to do a decent job.admitingly i use the windows firewall and defender because they are bundled into windows but as they are on me pc i may aswell use em

My first post was unfinished sorry for that, I didn't realize I clicked post and walked away.

So now FULL POST:

My current setup was Mcafee Security Centre (AV, Firewall, Anti-Spyware) with Defencewall 3 beta.
But I had to uninstall Defencewall (which I liked so much by it's method in theory and things like that but It was terrible for my gaming experince (maybe combination was terrible, but I coudn't get rid of AV for it))

So now I am left just with Mcafee Suite. I have read people saying it's resource hog, probably it is... But my new setup will be 2 or 3 programms so it may end-up same resourse hog or even worse.

So I am asking people who had experinced this kind of combination advice:

1. A-squard Anti-Malware pro with Comondo Firewall free

According to many people and Results and comments - www.matousec.com Comondo is one of the best Firewalls.

And I got one Free A-squared Anti Malware from prom offer thats's why I am choosing it in first place.
According to Malware Research Group
It has even better detection then MBAM (I don't belive this test much, but still)

2 Avira free with Comondo Firewall free.

Cons: I am changing my whole paid suite to 2 free programms.

3 Radical method (no real-time AV)
Shadow Defender Or Returinill 2010 (have free licence for both of them)
with Comondo Firewall or Defencewall v 3.
Pros: Light on resourse and in a way secure.
Cons: I was thinking reinstalling clean Windows installing all programms I will need and some I will probably need in future and virtualize it forever (or DeefFroze it). So it will be almost 100% secure. But then It will be a lot of trouble to update programms...

P.S: First importance resource and gaming experience and second main important thing is it to be less intrusive and annoying and of course securiy . And as I see Dinesh says A-sqauared AM is annoying =S
