LOL My first car was a 1960 White Mercury Station Wagon. This one is just a picture of one.

Why I'm laughing is the back story. This car was purchased new when I was 4 years old. When I was 9 years old my Dad decided to rebuild the engine and drive train, so he enlisted (actually ordered, service brats) me and my older brother to help
.
We would come home from school do our homework then check the fridge for a list of things he expected us to have done on the car by the time he got off duty. Along with the first list was the repair manual which we had to use to accomplish this. Failure was not an option!
So needless to say at 9 years old I helped rebuilt my first straight 6 cylinder engine.

My older brother is 16 months older than me. So he had already got his drivers license and worked at a fast food place called Dell Taco, which also happened to be the place every weekend all the guys who owned 70's muscle cars would show up and do burnouts and then head out to Ave. H 1/4 mile for some street racing.

These were the days of the GTO/ Hemi and the Chevy SS's.
2 days before I was to get my license and inherit( after paying $200.00 to my parents) this wonderful piece of machinery he drove it to work and was checking out the chickadies and re-ended the car in front of him thus caving in the whole front end both fenders and the hood. That's how I received my first car.

Now not only being a little ticked off I was stuck with it, but it would hold my entire entourage of friends to drive to school which was only 2 blocks from my house but would take me 6 miles every morning to get their.
The other cool part about this story is it needed a starter and I couldn't afford one yet so who ever called shotgun was also in charge of holding a comb on the top of the starter where the solenoid would engage a lever to start the car, at the same time holding open the hood from the back side since it wouldn't open from the front I remove the hinges and would open it from the rear end, then crawl under it to bungee cord it shut
.
That was my first car. What a pile of crap but the stories it could have told are priceless. Fabe

1955 Chevy with a nice set of chrome wheels and tires. Paid 100 bucks to a guy that had joined the army and was heading to The Nam. A month later the tire store came and got my wheels and tires. My 55 sat in the back yard on cinder blocks till I could afford to put tires on it. Lesson learned. If the price is to good to be true, then...:)

Mine was a MK IV 1999-2002 Ford Fiesta. Got it free. My parents bought it for my brother and was passed on to me. Was a good reliable whip.

Moved on to a MK II 2004 Renault Mégane, this was the first car I actually bought myself. Caused me nothing but trouble as it was an unreliable piece of French... You get the picture. However I loved the styling of it and despite all the trouble, I sort of loved it.

Currently got a MK V 2010 Volkswagen Polo. Really do love this car.

Got my full motorcycle licence last year and want a bike but can't afford one, and because of the rules in Northern Ireland I'm restricted to a 125CC for 2 years!!!

I will post some pics when I get home from work. Edit: For are US peeps who don't have these, (I think) 1) Fiest 2) Mégane 3) Polo, the model is my mum lol

That's what makes your first car so special - the memories :)

Mine was an inherited 1984/85 Nissan King Cab ute (pick up)

The damn thing was near indestructible which was just as well, the way I used to drive it. I had more fun in that car than all of my others combined.

In hindsight, I'm glad it wasn't a muscle/turbo rocket car, because I'd be dead.

My mate had the wagon version - that was also near indestructible. Flogged the living hell out that one too.

This was our family car we had just before the Mercury Station wagon.
I can't believe someone else owned one of these, well in the U. S. anyways.
Ours siezed up on the way to a family gathering in Ramona California and my Mom took the oportunity to get rid of it.
She strongly disliked adding oil to the gas for the 2 stroke engine. LOL Fabe

Saab 96 1970. I paid £100 exactly at the time. I've had four of this model over the years and would love one now. Never see them on the road anymore. I don't know whether they are considered a classic car but they are by me:D

Those Saabs are real classics. I think the early models had 2 stroke engines too. Later I think they switched to Ford engines.
