What's for Breakfast ?

Bill here's one I've used as a starting point. You can add more or less butter, depending on your taste or use margarine, which I do. Olive or some other oils work too, equal amounts of flour and the fat. Using buttermilk adds some flair instead or normal milk.

Heating the flour and fat make a roux, I like to make mine a bit brown for more flavor, but the browner it is, the less thickening power the flour has. I usually add more beef too, letting it cook a few minutes on low to extract the beef's flavor.

Tip: Add the milk slowly stirring constantly to blend better.

We had jalfrezi on Friday, I did think about putting it in the slow cooker but didn't want to stink the house out! I have thought about using the actifry too as that stirs it for you, although you'd have to be in for that one.

I'm wondering whether to have crumpets or cereal for tomorrow's breakfast, decisions, decisions.

Being a full time Care Giver it's a chore to plan breakfast, lunch and dinner for two along with keeping the house clean, lawn mowed, clothes washing and the list goes on.

Now I know what my wife went through when she was able to not only work 8 hours each day then come home and fix meals for my son and I.

I take my hat off to all the wives who do this without flinching at all the tasks she has during the day.
