Solved What's the best free OCR Software?

I haven't used OCR software for many years. Is there a decent free software that will work with my Canon Lide 220 Scanner? If not what commercial software is recommended?

Thanks for that John. Just want to scan hard copies and convert to Word or similar. I had it on my old scanner that is only compatible to Windows XP. Temporarily solved problem as I have dusted down an old XP machine and it is working perfectly, A bit slow but is getting the immedaite job done! Thanks again.

Thanks for the reply. I think you might have misunderstood me. When I said it was "a bit slow" I was referring to the scanning speed of my old XP machine not the reply to my origianal post!
