I have DSL, I get 3MB/s down and 768KB/s up. Works well with torrents(I never get throttled by my company) and is excellent with Xbox live.

Well sweden is "one" of the leading countries(I guess japan and mabye som other asian countires have a more widespread fiber net) when it comes to offering internet to the people. Especially when it comes to fiber...most larger cities here in sweden has what we cal "citynet" if I´m translating it correctly. Wich means they have dugg down miles and miles of optofiber in the ground and offering speeds up to 1000/100 in some places. It´s an ongoing fase, more and more people are getting it and demanding it. And it´s pretty cheap to...I´m paying for 100/100 around 28ish USD/month.

That was the speed I used to get until I went back to BT in May, I now usually get just under 4 Mb/s dowload. I live in a small coastal village

I actually get around 400kb/s down and 50kb/s up. Moving from a crappy p2p throttled 2mbit connection i couldn't be any happier
