I've just been upgraded to fibre, even though I don't call it true fibre as it's only fibre to the cabinet then it still comes over my copper wires into the house. I'm still getting more speed than I used to though, used to get about 3.79 Mb/s download and 0.38 Mb/s upload, this is the speed now, just this minute taken the test. It has got to over 37Mb/s before now but I've been told my line will not go below 35Mb/s.

For sure.

I signed up with TWC in September 2015 and now, next month, I will go from $35 to $60.

Could not believe it.

Correction....price will go up in October. Gives me time to find another source.

Was having 100 kBps now... Lol. I think I've got the lowest internet here :) #Philippines

Nope mines worse
They both remind me of my previous Internet speeds: download 7.2Mbps and upload 1.4.

The speed didn't bother me as much as what I paid for it. Now I get 60Mbps for less than what I paid for it.

I'm on a 12mbps download and 1mbps upload plan But it looks like Ive got the same ping time of 1ms. Its always the same (1ms) because I'm on the same optical fiber connection as the Square Kilometer Telescope Array that goes to the Pawsey supercomputer in Perth Western Australia 600+ kilometers away.I'm 500 Kilometers away north of Perth so not too bad for that distance Ay?

Why so slow???

My brother asked me to help him with his internet speeds. When he is using his WiFi his download speed is 10.01 Mbps and upload speed 5.51 Mbps. His Ethernet speed has reached a top speed of 51 Mbps and upload speeds of atleast 6 Mbps. I did a ping test with command prompt and all packets were received. I have done diagnosis tests on the wifi driver with no problems coming up. He called his internet provider and they said the router is performing perfectly. I know you loose speed while using your wifi signal but I wouldn't think I would loose this much speed. I'm out of ideas of what it could be. Any ideas what could fix it?
Thanks in advance.

I'm no expert by any means but I know that Wi Fi is always slower. If you look up the specs of your router and see the Wi Fi rate you can halve it apparently? So if its 300mbps it will be 150mbps! The only way I know to improve Wi Fi speed is to upgrade to a better Wi Fi router with the latest 802.11a/g/n/ac channels, you've probably got the old 802.11a/g/n channels like me but it does me OK.

The router is an AT&T they rent out for their internet. I want to say it is the latest one. The channels are set on automatic and I uninstalled his WiFi driver and reinstall it. It seemed to increase the speed a little bit.
