I won't be able to post all that many specs because my computer won't start up right.
I had a virus and some malaware and I tried to removed them with Microsoft Security Essentials. It removed some but I still lost all my desktop icons and can't use half the programs that would help fix the problem. Like I can't do system restore normally so I did it through cmd and it won't work because it gives me an error. And when I try to fo safe mode (pressing f8) it gives me a black screen and won't even let me see what I have for options. So I tried other anti virus programs like superantivirus and then malawarebytes. They both dicoververd Trojans and trackers. But still didn't fix the problem. So I tried to create a repair disk and use that but I still get the black screen. And after I tried to do safeboot I have a permanent black screen. Like I start the computer and it's a black screen on both tv's and with both Hdmi and VGA, plus I tried using a normal monitor but I still get the black screen. No matter how long I leave it off or let it sit there I can't get anything to show up on the screen. Any help please?!

Also when I use system restore the error I get is: "system restore failed to extract the original copy of the directory from the restor point.
Source: %systemroot%/registration
Destination: ComPlusStaging"
Also I switched my VGA cable to the old graphics card (3000 radeon) and I can finally see what I'm doing when I press f8 and in safe mode. But I still can't fix my computer.

Uninstall and re-install both display cards as follows:

1. Download and install Driver Sweeper
2. Download the latest driver for your display card
3. Click Start Menu
4. Right Click My Computer
5. Click Manage
6. Click Device Manager from the list on the left
7. Click the + next to Display adapter
8. Right click your display/graphics card device
9. Click Uninstall
10. Check the box to Delete driver software for the device
11. Click OK
12. Restart your computer in safe mode
13. Run Driver Sweeper, select display card manufacturer's drivers, analyze, clean
14. Restart your computer
15. Install the latest drivers

Also, since you are having issues with your restore points, you may have corrupted files and/or system files. Run http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/433-disk-check.html with both boxes checked (this will take a while for a large drive). If the problem persists, run http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/1538-sfc-scannow-command-system-file-checker.html (you may need to run up to three times to fix all errors). If you still are unable to restore from restore points, run the steps in http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/336-system-protection-restore-points-delete.html Option One.

Did you make recovery discs? If not, try pressing F11 or F1 (F11 first as this is the most common) as soon as the computer turns on and the HP logo shows up.

Remember to back up important user files before recovering to factory settings as you will wipe all your information in the process.

I made a system repair disc. (if that is what you're asking) and I tried the f11 and I tried system restore, windows memory diagnostics and both didn't work. I couldn't use system image recovery because I don't have a system image to recover from. Would startup repair do what I need to do? And sorry for making this difficult.

When you buy a computer these days, you are supposed to make recovery discs to recover your computer to the factory settings (the way the system was when you bought it). Does the HP screen have a message that says "** = System Recovery" because the message I have replaced by ** is the process for accessing your recovery partition.

If you have changed the partition layout in any way or installed/updated an operating system, the recovery partition will no longer work and you will have to contact HP directly and ask them to send your recovery discs and pay $15-$25 for them to do so.

Your other option is to try a http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/3413-repair-install.html by downloading the Windows 7 Pro 64 bit iso for your system from the windows 7 sp1 integrated iso offical direct download link. Just search Google for "windows 7 sp1 integrated iso offical direct download link" (without quotes) and get the iso and burn it to DVD. Then follow the repair install instructions.

Alright new problem I guess. I reinstalled windows and it fixed the old problem bit created a new one. It says my Ethernet controller driver is not installed and the driver for my video card isn't either. Any suggestions? You guys helped out a lot so far.

Video Card is easy. ATI Catalyst

Unfortunately, without your recovery discs, finding the correct ethernet controller driver is going to be a little more difficult.

Check the HP product support site for your model and any drivers associated with it.
