When booting windows 7, all I see is a black screen & cursor...

When booting my pc, it goes past the windows logo and just before the login screen appears, the screen goes black and all I see is my cursor, I can't move the cursor or do anything with the pc. The only solution that seems to be working is I have to boot from cd and reinstall windows 7. I really don't want to do this everytime I boot up my pc as the installation takes around 45mins. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Followed this before, nothing worked apart from a clean install of windows, but when I reboot it goes back to the black screen and cursor and my only option is to reinstall windows again. I really don't want to have to reinstall windows everytime my computer switches on because the installation process takes around 45 minutes.

I would suggest you to follow the below mentioned steps in order which could fix the issue:

o Kindly check if Hard Drive is recognized in BIOS or not.
o Run Hardware Diagnostics.
o Boot to Safe mode and perform system restore. If system restore fails or unable to access safe mode, follow next step.

Have you run the hardware tests in the note at beginning of Troubleshooting Windows 7 Failure to Boot?

Have you tried wiping the HD of boot code using Diskpart Clean Command
before reinstall?
