Where are my cookies?

Hi everyone. I've really only joined to ask one question.

Where are the cookies stored in Windows 7? I've been playing Gemcraft Chapter 0, a flash game on armorgames.com and I need to find my cookies so I can transfer them to Vista.

I have Windows 7 and Vista on the same HD, so I was hoping I could just copy from one folder to another.

%userprofile%\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Cookies

You have to uncheck "hide protected system files"

I don't know if copying that folder will do what you need but it's a start. Good luck!

It isn't there. There is a cookie file under default user but it's empty.

I'm accessing from Vista by the way. I'm not using W7 at the moment.

Yea sorry...I just had to edit it. You have to go into folder options and uncheck "hide protected system files" to make it show up. Hope this helps.

Also, I don't know if ALL browsers store them here. Maybe just IE. Don't know.

Thanks. I found the cookies, but the one I want isn't there. It's a game save from an online flash game. Elsewhere in this forum someone linked to the adobe website that shows what adobe cookies you have. Where may they be stored on the computer?

I'm mainly using Firefox too.

Thanks nate42nd. I found the flash cookies in %userprofile%\AppData\Roaming\Macromedia\Flashplayer\etc. I then copied the whole armorgames folder to my Vista installation.

It's all good now. :D

Good forum though, I'm learning lots.

Well this certainly saved me asking the question again. Excellent answer, Nate! Saved me a lot of blundering about. Thanks.

Not brilliant (distance from exchange!)
In the same folder as told by nate42nd, there is a hidden folder by the name "Low". I found most of the cookies there. Not sure why Windows distributes the cookies in 2 folders though.

I see the cookies folder and it's a bunch of text files. How do you know which cookie is for which thing? For a specific example (and I'd love to know the actual answer) for my gmail account. Since I have the second security in place where it sends me a text message for use on an unknown computer - if I know which file is my gmail file and I save that somewhere special - if I wipe my cookies for other needs and then paste that file back in the cookie folder, can I sign on to my gmail without having to validate with my cell phone? I would really love to ONLY be alerted when other computers are used but not have to do that with my own computer ever. There are times I will want to delete my cookies for other reasons....
