Where can you download the realtek hd audio manager? It doesn't seem to be included in the driver package you find at the site, and there aren't any other downloads. I need EQ so badly.

My motherboard is a P7P55D if that's any help.

Hello Quano,

From the specs of your motherboard at the link you posted, you have a VIA VT1828S 8-Channel High Definition Audio CODEC chip instead, and not a Realtek HD audio chip.

You can get the latest VIA VT1828S series audio driver version v8700a_20100923 at the link below.

VIA Drivers Download - VIA Technologies, Inc.

Hope this helps,
Shawn

There is some setting in BIOS allowing me to change "front panel" or something like that. I can choose either AC97 or HD Audio Controller. I haven't had any luck with either of them, but isn't AC97 some Realtek thing?

Quano,

Double check using what Abhishek posted above to make sure that you actually have the Asus P7P55D motherboard.

If you do, then you have a VIA audio chip as posted above, and will need to install the drives for it.

I totally agree with Shawn.

Make sure what exactly hardware you have (Via SIW or other similar program). Keep BIOS settings to default for now.

I'm quite certain (as in 100%), as I built the computer from parts.

I will check the VIA drivers when I get home.

The whole reason behind me chasing drivers like this is because I bought some Creative T10 speakers, which sound so insanely bad because they're boosting low frequencies. The lowest ones are okay, but between 200-400 Hz or something, it just reverbs too much or whatever you call it (can't find the right word*). Using EQ in my music player did solve it, but only for the player of course. I'd like to have some OS-level EQ. But I think I'll just try to return the speakers somehow. I shouldn't have to uninstall my soundblaster and go for motherboard audio because some speakers are bad.

(Soundblaster Audigy doesn't seem to have EQ in Win 7.)

* If there are any swedes here, what is "burkigt" in english? Can't find in any dictionary! Google says "tinny" but that's not true!

Ahhh...that makes easy to communicate (you are system builder) :)

I got it, it sounds like crazy how much does not matter :p

Yes, your target should be OS level EQ, no doubt about it.

You can narrow down from realtek's site? Realtek

I am saying to go for trial and error :( as you can handle as an advanced user.
