I have two usb memory sticks on my pc. They had drive designations of

Sony stick = L
Verbatim stick = M

I am not sure when this happened but the drive designations are now

Sony stick = K
Verbatim stick = M

Does any one know how to restore them to their original drive designations without loosing the files? I have tried shutting down the unplugging the all the usb ports and shutting down the pc and unplugging it for 15 minutes before restarting the pc and plugging the ports back in. all the other drives and usb devices restored back normally.

When I add additional usb sticks they pick up they start at N but none get the L designation.

Forgot to mention this is a windows 7 home premium 64 bit os.
