where did snipping tool go

I have had Windows 7 Pro since September of 2010, had to re-install windows due to a drive by virus hit, re-installed in November 2010. Has worked great ever since for the most part. Have used the snipping tool many times. Now a couple of weeks ago it disapeard. I have looked in the two program files area one these folders has an X86 in the name, anyway I cannot find it anywhere.

I did install in March of 2011 a program called Printscreen program by American that I used for years in XP and was surprised to find that it worked in Win7 pro at least I thought it did then I discovered it would not work inside another program running in win 7 so i removed it via Programs and Features. A short time after that i found that the Snipping Tool is gone.

Does anyone know how I can get it back

Before we go ahead and assume it's actually gone;

Snipping Tool, like most built in Windows programs, is located at C:\Windows\system32 Not Program Files. The full path is:

C:\Windows\system32\SnippingTool.exe

Try pressing Windows+R (the key with the Windows symbol on it, usually 2nd one in on the left at the bottom of your keyboard) and pasting the above in, see if it loads.

Just go to the Start Orb and type in Snipping and it should be at the top.
Right click on it and select Pin to Start to Start Menu
That should make it handy.
