I'd just like to add a nod to the "personal reasons" response. I've not only used 7 for several years now, but I've also modified it to exactly the way I want it. By modify, I mean installed a bunch of 3rd party programs to replace Microsoft defaults and I don't want to do that all over again. I'm happy with what I have. It works for me. I'm not going to be bullied by corporations to spend more money and time to learn a new OS just because they aren't going to support it anymore. As far as security goes, my security software still supports 7 and my browsers and browser extensions still support 7. I should be good for a while longer.
And who cares about support anyway. What the hell is Microsoft support? Even their pathetic help files don't help me with issues. I certainly wouldn't waste my time calling them for support. Do people even do that?
I use plenty of software that STILL supports 7 (hell a couple still support XP). And there are occasions when they may not support 7 but it still works on 7. I believe the only ones that won't support 7 are the ones who's install program checks your OS and says "you need to update your OS". As long as they don't do that, it should install and work. I've come across a few but like I said everything else is fine (graphics, 3D, security, drivers, browsers, etc.).
Adobe doesn't support it but I think they're in bed with Microsoft. Plus my CS3 disks still work.
I haven't looked for any 7 discs online lately but I did buy a new one last year because I plan to build a 2nd one soon.
I have 8.1 on a couple laptops and it's annoying as hell. I use 10 on a work PC and I don't like it at all. I'm not going to use something everyday that I don't like. That's stupid. Enough stress in this world already.
