Your system probably just about handles Windows 7, and could you please fully update your System Specifications by downloading Speccy (link below my post) and then going to UserCP, then copying the information from the Speccy program into your Edit System Spec pane, which is located on the left pane of the UserCP section.

No, the smaller amount of RAM, 1GB, wouldn't cause the problem.

Sounds like it could be a driver issue. If its something that recently happened you can go into your device manager find the video card and roll back the driver.

Select start orb
Right click on computer
Select manager
On the left side of computer manager you should see the option device manager. Select device manager.
Click the arrow on display adapters.
Your video card should now be displayed.
Right click on the video card name.
Select properties.
Select the driver tab.
Select roll back driver.
(If that option is not available check the manufactures website for new drivers.) Or give us your pc manufacture or video card manufactured and we can help you find drivers.

The 1GB RAM is not the issue, as I have quite a old system (family) which is running 1GB RAM with Windows 7 Home Premium, however I would recommend upgrading your RAM to least 4GB.

The problem as suggested already, is most probably due to a faulty graphics card or outdated graphics drivers; please go to Device Manager as pointed out by parman, and check for any yellow triangles next to the listed devices and then please post the error code if a yellow triangle is found.

Also, please post your graphics card manufacturer as I will be able to link you to a the appropriate graphics card stress test which will tell us if there are errors with your graphics card.
