Which one is right for you?

gotta say, the adverse reports I kept seeing on various forums
put me off installing Vista - the transition from XP to Vista didn't
seem to generate anything like the amount of enthusiasm I'm seeing
from people who made the "double-jump" from XP to Windows Seven..

taking part in BETA trials for W7 convinced me right away that it was a good choice..
I instantly saw that W7 was what Vista should have been, as did many others..
and I haven't seen any serious reports indicating that upgrading from XP to W7 was a bad move..

one suspects that Microsoft also realized this in the early stages of the BETA trials
hence their confidence in making the comparison between their own products.. (?)

In my opinion, most of the people who have bought W7, were using it as a beta and RC, liked it, and bought it. The casual users will get it when they buy a new computer. A friend of mine, who writes books, uses his computer only for writing and listening to DVDs while he writes and he's happily using Windows98 on a ten-year old computer.

Still as good as the day he got it then!

I think the reason people did this was they held off due to reading about the bugs and how much resorces it uses. I held back untill i read on some forums about Windows 7. They still say its not as good as XP, but is the equalivent of XP. I 'double jumped'. I'll be staying for windows 7 untill Windows 8 comes out in 2012 and give that a try.
