Is it because you want to see how fast this new OS is?
Gaming?
Office and business applications?
Just curious as to what's to come?

Since this *will* be a new Windows OS, do you have anything to add for your reasons?

As for me, I'm testing it to see how much malware we will see in the coming months once it's an official OS.

It didn't take long for us to see that users could infect their Vista OS's by not following advice from the experts.

The main reason being that its gonna be our new OS for future use, and its a good one for a change ;) XP was brilliant, but its now past its lifetime, Vista was sh!t, and never had a lifetime lol :D;)

OS
XP
Because I was bored of XP... after using MAC OSX, kubuntu, and opensuse, I felt like I wasn't going back to the horrible interface of XP... and Vista wasn't an option. So, I decided with 7 after I realized that macosx and other linux distros were really stupid to use on a everyday computer. I mean, you can't even have a decent chat on MSN, or play any great game around. Even office for mac sucked, and open office sucked more.

Like SK, it was a new toy. Vista runs great for me, but 7 runs better and makes some things I do easier. This will be the first OS I buy rather than get pre-installed on a new comp. Also wanted to try x64 but didn't want to buy a x64 Vista.

I'm not "testing" Win7, I'm using it! I'll never install any Vista again, because Win7 is better IMHO. It already runs stable, fast and reliable. All the software I need works, all devices I use are supported (or the Vista drivers work). So I'm using it as my production system and I'll never look back. I even use it on my HTPC now and it works perfectly!

Regards!

I am testing it as a beta tester for Microsoft & friends, to find the faults/bugs/flaws in the program.
I am also using it to familiarize myself with the OS, and to find what it can & cant do.
I have my own business and need to know how to use & install this new OS. :)

My PC was hand built with matchsticks. xbox 360 controller. Printers,fax.........
I started out in 1983 with a Commodore 64 computer, so that I could learn computers. Me & 2 other friends each had small retail businesses. We hellp each other modify BASIC programs (Like open-source) to print labels, ivoices, statements & keep product lists. We went to 286-PC's in 1987 with M$ DOS. I learned how to network with Novell Netware Lite in 1989, then Novell Netware 4.11 in 1995. Used our M$ Dos business program for 21 years, but they stopped supporting it when we needed more sophisticated operations that involved being connected to the internet at high speed.

Along the way I have purchased, tested & used many versions of Windows. Collecting computers has sort of been like collecting old cars. Each has it's nostalgic use, value, and appeal. Therefore the hobby continues with another chapter called Windows7. Where thanks to Beta Testing I have met & made a lot of great friends around the world. Like one of the commercials on TV says: "You can't have to much Good Stuff"

I am preparing for the Future, by testing the Future in the Present.

Why Not?

The best answer out there.

Also because (like SK) its a new toy and I LOVE tinkering with computers (and anything shiny or dangerous). And I want to start working my way deeper into computers, and this was a good place to start.

Vista runs great for me, though Seven is a little unstable (had explorer freeze and crash about 20 mins ago, but its back up). I want to get this when it comes out and I can't wait........... *paces*

Because it's there

I think wasn't it Sir Edmund Hiliary being asked why he wanted to Climb Mt Everest (way back in 1953 before it had been done) gave that immortal answer.

I certainly can't think of a better one -- might be able to do so after some glasses of nice Malt Scotch Whisky.

Is it because you want to see how fast this new OS is?
Gaming?
Office and business applications?
Just curious as to what's to come?

Since this *will* be a new Windows OS, do you have anything to add for your reasons?

Why? My Mom. She always has to get the latest and greatest. "Can you come get me online? I just got an IMac." Well mom its differnt from my Windows 98. " Hey son I just Got a Dell come get my email working." Mmm this XP is not like my Win ME. " Yep come over I got Vista and I need some help." I'll be ready for her this xmas. You got what, Windows Seven! Cool Mom.

Why? My Mom. ..........

Helping Mom is a darn good reason. :)

I'm testing it to help Microsoft make this the best OS ever designed. I really enjoy it and I really like helping other people with the same zeal for technology. With the growth of the internet and jet travel, we are all one big community with almost instantaneous communications and interactions. It is quite enjoyable to be a part of it all. :) God save the Queen and give us a new Windows 7 leak please.
