My computer recently crashed because of (i'm not sure why) and have had MANY issues trying to reinstall windows 7 home premium.

-I have "deleted" my hard drive multiple times.
-I have my BIOS set to the boot disc.
-I have a retail win 7 installation disc.

Now the problems...
-My windows goes through the installation process, then about half way through the comp crashes. Why? If I "deleted" my hard drives with the win7 boot disc, why is it still crashing?

TODAY i tried this all over and after a few failed attempts, my win7 disc became REALLY slow. Like mega slow. I tried other boot discs and they are fine. I burned a copy of my win7 disc, and the burned dvd was the SAME speed... Help please :(

EDIT: To see the real problems (new) check out the posts, don't feel like updating first post on this thread,

Where did you get Win7? Check the HASH against official HASH. You may need to try downloading another.

If you burned the DVD yourself, try burning it again using ImgBurn at 4x - it never fails. Or install using USB flash stick: http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/2432-usb-windows-7-installation-key-drive-create.html

Try wiping the HD first: http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/91339-ssd-hdd-optimize-windows-reinstallation.html

Check that you have the latest BIOS version update on the Support Downloads webpage for your model computer or BIOS. If so, reset the CMOS: Clear CMOS - 3 Ways to Clear the CMOS - Reset BIOS

Set SATA controller in BIOS setup to AHCI first, then IDE if necessary.

Remove all but 2gb of RAM to try install.

Got windows 7 and a beast computer from one of my uncles. This thing costed $2500 alone, and has alot of accessories. He really hooked me up basically. When he got it, he did all of the installing of appropriate programs so i didnt have to :). But now that its in my possesiom i have to figure things out :(

-update- finish "diskpart cleaning" on command prompt, and now reinstallinf win7 for the 373839437292040838 time. 0.o. Hopefully this does the trick!

Right now i'm really losing all hope..
It REALLY doesnt help to use the win7 disc now because it took literally 4 hours to get to 50% or a little over during the installation before it crashed :/

same spot as always then boom. Comp reboots and never finishes.
Getting veerryy annoyed now O.o

What were the results of each of these steps?

Where did you get Win7? Check the HASH against official HASH to make sure the ISO is intact. You may need to try downloading another.

If you burned the DVD yourself, try burning it again using ImgBurn at 4x - it never fails. Or install using USB flash stick: http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/2432-usb-windows-7-installation-key-drive-create.html

Set SATA controller in BIOS setup to AHCI first, then IDE if necessary.

Remove all but 2gb of RAM to try install.

THere are a number of troubleshooting steps that need to be taken to get it working. If you don't report back on each one, then we don't know to give you new ones.

Have you tried any of these suggestions?

If the Windows 7 install disk is one you burned yourself it may be a bad burn and needs to be done again, if so this would be the first thing to try.

Use the free ISO burner at the link below to burn another at a speed of now more than 4x and select to let the program to verify the disk before it finishes.

ImgBurn Free ISO Burner

If that doesn't solve it and there's nothing on the Hard Disk Drive (HDD) that you want to save, have a look at this tutorial at the link below, it over-writes every sector (all the previous Windows code) on the HDD with zeroes and that makes the best possible space to install Windows to.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

-i have burnt 2 discs now, 1 normally and just now 1 at 4x+ speed. That disc is runninh, waiting on results.

-i wiped my HDD and nothing changed with the installation ( meaning it wasnt a crash that i thought it was).

-my BIOS are all up-to-date, as it's a new computer (i checked too)

-how do i remove RAM? I haven't tried this yer. If the installation fails again at 4x speed, i'll try this. Can someone tell me how?

Just to point out, RAM is very sensitive to static electricity (from your body) and the slightest bit will ruin the RAM, you must keep your forearm against the side of the PC case whenever you touch one of the sticks.

Maybe you should ask a tech-savvy friend to help you remove the RAM.

Be sure to unplug power cord. Once you open the case, don't touch any of the electronics without first touching the case to discharge static electricity. Failing to do this can fry your electronics including the RAM sticks.

Watch this vid: YouTube - How to replace the RAM in a desktop computer

I just took the case off my computet and wow.. I'm impressed. My uncle hookee me up biggg time o.O
i don't even know where to start lol

i have 4 sticks of RAM and they are so shiny >.<
do i just remove them? (without frying them with human electricity ofcourse)

OKAY NEW DISCOVERY-

just did a random "windows memory diagnostic" and it revealed to me that there IS somethinf wrong after all!
This is the problem..

"file: \windows\systems32\winload.exe
status: 0xc000000F
info: 'the selected ... Cannot be loaded ... Because it is missing or corrupt'"

How do i fix this? If there is a way, will this fix the certain windows reboot during installation?

I think this might be my answer... Been searching for a good week now for hours a day..

Thanks!

That isn't a WMD test error. When did it occur, after computer attempted to restart after WMD test?

Run the WMD test again for both passes and see if it throw up errors during the test, and what it reports before restarting.

Have you unplugged all other HD's and USB devices to try install?

It would be better if you suspect memory problems to use memtest86 CD test run 5-6 passes or overnight to get the definitive answer on your RAM. Memtest86 - Download Page

Did your Uncle give you a geniune retail copy of Win7 in a new package with Product ID?

-How is it NOT a WMD test error? I goggled it and it showed up with aton of people getting the same problem as me, just with different results (their settings WERE messed up and mine AREN'T)
-It occurred when I did the test. It showed up AFTER the test (the computer didn't restart)
-I went through both passes again and it showed the same error.
-I have tried almost every imaginable way to reinstall windows

Yes he gave me the retail copy of windows 7, with the product key on it :)

Downloading memtest right now on another computer, update soon.

I have been researching and for this "error" i got, may be due to the wrong settings in the windows boot manager/loader in DOS. I looked up mine and they are all correct :/ so i'll do a memtest scan.

Umm kind of :l Do I clear ALL the disks? Or just one. If i have to delete all, can i do them all at the same time or just one by one?

Which should i do first.. The memtest or redo the SDD/HDD ? i know both will take forever o.O

Well now that we find out you have a bunch of HD's, just unplug all but one and try install to one by booting DVD, selecting Custom install, then use Drive Options to create a partition and format it. That might be all it takes.

If not, run Diskpart Clean or Clean All (takes an hour per 320gb) on it to see if boot sector code is conflicting - somewhat doubtful on new HD's unless something glitched.

Then I'd do the memtest to see if you get memory errors in the category which lists errors. RUn it overnight to stress test the RAM and you'll know for sure.

Better fill in your System Specs in the bottom left corner of post so others can pitch in and we can help you better.

I will fill the specs in asap.

One question, how do i "remove" drives? When i keep only one drive, does it matter which one? This whole time, i have been reinstalling and randomly deleting partirions etc. Wirh all the drives, not focusing on one. That may be the problem. Waiting for this start up repair to finish searching for problems, then i'll remove the drives and see whats up.

By the way, thank YOU so much for all that your doibg for me. I really appreciate it
