why copying speed differes in windows copy and tera copy copying

Hi, Normally we need this function in almost all the devices.
but i find that the speed of copying , is puzzling me.
When i copy a set of video files from computer to a external drive, which has more space, it takes just few minutes for one set of videos.
But , when i try another set on some other day, it speed was dismal, say 300 kbs, instead of mbs
why
The same destination is external hard disk.
i tried window copying and tera copying, but in both method, the speed was very minimal

So many things come into play CPU, disk usage ,anti virus. Robocopy built in should be the fastest that what ms designed it for. Often av will cause it as it can scan on read and write

Hi, i know that there is no virus in what I am copying. It is being checked.
Scondly, i do not think cpu disk usage hasanything to do.
because, the same process are run while copying other files also, like internet browsing and copying only.
What are other things that could affect copying speed.

U mostly use tera copy, as it does not stop in the middle of copying, if one file in the whole lot is damaged or corrupted. It proceeds with the next file.
Windows copy would stand stilll and we have no clue
