Solved Why WiFi disconnect in win 7 after 5 minutes

If the router is attached to a different computer (which I assume is the case), it doesn't matter what your laptop does in order to reset the router. Maybe I'm misunderstanding what your set up is.

Our mobiles and laptop use wifi.
We did our hard reset of router and wifi and internet was not working for 2 days..

Laptop still disconnect automatically after some time.
This laptop was working ok previously but don't know what happened to it now.
I downloaded a driver from inter site,
62.5 mb size.
Wifii was working for 30 minutes and then it disconnected again.
Restore points also not working
But for this I will make a separate thread.

Open device manager scroll to the Network device (on computer), that is causing problem WiFi or Ethernet and open the Power management tab

Make sure the marked box is not checked ...



This setting is on by default and is the usual reason for unwanted drop outs of connection - It has not been changed since the days of Dial up so is set to switch off quickly to save data costs, not often needed with an Always-On Broadband connection that most have today

There is a variation of the time that the laptop is disconnected due to the system checking for activity before "Pulling The Plug", other devices will not be disconnected by this settings they would normally have their own settings, most mobiles are an hour or more due to today's always on systems

But still it's disconnecting automatically.
Everything is working ok except computer laptop.

Only thing I can think of to try next is check the laptop BIOS for some similar "feature", if it's present see if and how to adjust it

My router is not attached to a different computer.
At the moment we are not using the wired connections.
We are only using WiFi. BarTmaN
How to check similar features in insyde BIOS.
Because some options are dimmed and when the mouse cursor goes over them to select it,
It jumps over those dimmed options and goes to the next option.
And this problem is not permanent because this laptop was connecting to WiFi without any problems.

I guess you're using an ethernet connection from the cable modem to the router but the router isn't connected to a computer.

My isp told me that it is modem+router+wifi
Combined all in one.
There is a cable from our isp to the splitter and from the splitter to this router,
But from router to laptop and mobiles there is. No cables.

Is the cable to the splitter R6 and the the cable from the splitter to the router ethernet? Is anything else attached to the splitter?

Cable to the splitter is hard and black.
Cable from the splitter to router Is soft white and easily bendable.
It's approximately 1 to 1.5 meters long

A splitter splits phone line from data line or internet line.
We don't need phone so the splitter is only connected to the internet line and not the phone line.

I think we have pinpointed our problem.
The problem is not in the internet
Because all other devices working properly.
It's only something in the laptop that is causing the problem.the problem is not connecting to WiFi
But it's disconnection after 3,4
or 5 minutes.
Now where can those settings be.
We don't know.

I understand. I just wanted to make sure that there was no other device on that connection which might cause a loss of bandwidth. I'm going to punt a little bit. Take a look at the common sense things that might cause the dropouts here-

the dropouts are not because of the router or distance from the router because all other devices work with the same router and at the same distance.
and this laptop worked for a long time with the same router.
i have already visited this lifewire forum, but that also was unhelpful.

I'm not going to pretend that I know a whole lot about what your data is showing.

What I though might pique your curiosity in that link was the effect of multiple devices on the bandwidth and possible connection problems.

I see you're using a VPN but don't know if that would have any effect.

My VPN is not provided by my internet service provider.
I use another VPN but occasionally.
I don't use it often.
I strongly suspect some hidden settings in my laptop.
