I have dell 3551 now installed Win 8 64Bit.

unable to install the wireless driver. While I try to download from Dell site, it is showing it as compatible to Del Wireless 1707 802.11b driver. But when it install, it detecting , but erroring out saying driver not compatible with this windows version

This becoming irritating, no CD drive and no Wifi now :eek:

Can some one please help if you have a solution..

Oh my ganesh

i say that because this afternoon i was on the phone with Dell's on hold music from 12pm to 5 pm .. i kid you not....i felt like a slutty ping pong ball.. i bought this Dell Inspiron 15-3521 simply put, the dilema is similar to this thread, i install wi-fi drivers, it asks me to turn on (activate) the bluetooth.. i see no bluetooth button on the keboard so i went to find it in CMOS.. not there so i set the laptop to optiml default and left CMOS, yes i have the realtek card reader drivers installed, yes i uninstalled all the bluetooth devices from network n device manager, yes i rebooted, YES i offered the laptop 152 sacrificial goats to appease the DELL gods

i am using windows 7 Ultimte 64 bit

please help

I didn't see you mention the chipset, did you install that driver?

I believe Fn+F2 is the wireless key you may be looking for.

I'm not sure why you posted that, none of those drivers were installed.

I thought the links right below each one was pretty self explanatory, SMBus is part of the chipset.

That was the first thing I asked you about, it is probably the most important one to install, which is why I put it at the top.

The one below that is related to the chipset as well (Intel Management Engine)

The one below that is your actual wireless and bluetooth drivers.

Below that are your USB drivers.

Lastly is your ethernet or wired network driver.
