Wifi Card, Router, or Settings issue?

I have a toshiba Satellite L500D that seems to have issues connecting and reconnecting to wifi signals.

At my house it only connects once in a blue moon and when it does connect it cuts off and disconnects after a couple minutes of use. When I reboot it, it doesn't connect automatically and I have to search for my ssid and connect that way.

I brought it to my fiends house to test, and it seems to run smoother. No random disconetions but It still wont automatically reconnects after a reboot. (actually it does on a restart or a reboot within a couple of minutes, but anything longer and it doesn't remember and reconnect automatically)


I have the auto reconnect box checked off, Not sure why it wont automatically do it.


Im not sure If I should get a new router at home or a new wireless card or both?

edit; I have installed and reinstalled the wireless adapter drivers fr Toshiba site over and over w/ no change.

kymira, Have you look at updating your wifi adapters driver? Is this a new laptop or did you install 7 on it? more info would help to resolve your problem. Good luck to you with this.
are you using this version # driver?

kymira, Have you look at updating your wifi adapters driver? Is this a new laptop or did you install 7 on it? more info would help to resolve your problem. Good luck to you with this.

I have updated and reinstalled the drivers fr here:

And I selected "pslkoc-00t005" the exact model of my satellite.

The laptop was store bought and came preloaded w/ Vista 64. Win 7 32bit was then installed after.

Seems like I cannot find win 7 32bit drivers for my wireless adapter

I see two differnt wireless drivers on this page that I have linked here.Says they are for win7 and 64 or 32 bit whichever you need?
Windows®7. Your PC, simplified.
One is for Atheros wireless lan driver and one is realtek wireless. Have a look in device manager and see who your manufacter of your card?
