Solved Wifi connection discovered but not connecting

a specific wifi connection is failing, although the network can be discovered and other devices can connect, so nothing wrong with network. windows trouble shooter is unable to diagnose. the adapter is fine. the computer connects to other wifi networks. cannot figure out the problem
