Solved Will Clean All Overwrite Chkdsk

If I were to run chkdsk to check for errors, fix them etc. If I ran a clean all would it just overwrite any effect chkdsk had

this is while booting from my windows 7 disk with a hdd i have

No, if you run a chkdsk repair (X:\chkdsk /r) and then reinstalled Windows it would not cause any harm.

However, what's the point if you're going to reinstall Windows? Chkdsk does not fix HDD physical problems. Just enable SMART disk monitoring in your BIOS, and when reloading Windows do a disk reformat in the process.
