I have a locally built computer from a computer store (out of business) that is 4 or 5 years old... it was a store that you basically told them which parts to install and they built it. My computer came with XP Pro installed but I have since bought and installed Windows 7 Home Premium Upgrade. My son who still lives at home bought a Windows 7 home Premium Family Upgrade Pack since it was cheaper than a single license and still has two unused licenses.
I would like to try to build my first computer so will my Windows 7 license transfer over to the new build? If not would I be able to use one of my son's licenses?

As I stated this is all on the honor System since you can install Upgrade version to a new or cleaned HD using a workaround in the tutorial provided. But under the EULA there still must be a qualifying OS for using Upgrade version.
