Solved Will this ram mix work?

i know you cant mix different brands of RAM together but have a look at these config the idea is the two red in red and the two black in black let me know what you think...

As long as the sticks of RAM are good, it will work. It is a well known fact that a matched kit is a better than mixing and matching though.

Knowing that a matched kit is better would there be any loss in performance for this setup?

Can't answer that without having it in hand and testing it against a matched set....unfortunately.

No problem! Theoretically, it shouldn't matter and it should work just the same as a matched set, but RAM is a finicky piece of hardware so all bets are off.

Some motherboards are very sensitive to mismatched ram. There can be manufacturing differences, even between the same part numbers.That is why ram is sold in kits.
All RAM installed in a machine needs to be run at the same voltage, speed, and latency settings -- they can't be set independently for each DIMM.
