Hello again.

I have purchased a new laptop and installed is Windows 7 64 bit. Being a novice I haven't a clue what 64 bit means or if it is better or worse than 32 bit, never the less I am steadily finding my way round it (although I still think microsoft are making things too complicated for the novice).
One problem I am encountering is after downloading Google Earth, it does not appear on desktop or in 'programs' therefore I cannot use it. However when opening 'uninstall a program' there it is.
Anyone have any ideas?

I've just downloaded and installed and, like you said, it doesn't appear on the desktop or on the Start Menu.

The executable, googleearth.exe, is located in this folder: C:\Program Files (x86)\Google\Google Earth\client\. Right-click on the executable and mouse over the menu until Send To is highlighted. From this menu, click on Desktop (create shortcut). You can, of course, choose the option to Pin to Taskbar and/or Pin to Start Menu as well as or instead of the Send To option.

Hello Jonston7,
Shortly the 64bits means that it's processing 64bits at same time. 64bit is generally better than 32bit. It's faster and safer.

Don't worry we all have once been novices, you can always ask :D

Hi Johnston7,
Click "My Computer", then "C", "Program files" etc...
You can also use "Search" you can find it from "Start". Just write Google Earth and search.
