It seems to be a good iso on boneless. Loaded it on a USB drive and installed no problem. Beta 1 key worked as well.

Internet providers throttling your packets is bad. Just wait until your power company starts throttling your electricity, that will make for cold or hot times depending on where you live. <== offtopic I know

I really like build 7048 (both x86 and x64). It is rock solid and really no significant issues that I have found. Good job Mr. Sinofsky! When this retails, I plan to purchase a copy and I encourage everyone to do so also.

Installed build 7048 (32bit) after a fairly quick torrent dl. I did an uprade over build 7022 and all seems to have gone well (it did take a couple of hours). Internet Explorer 8 seems much faster (I can actually use it now instead of resorting to Firefox as I did with previous builds) and on the last build I had trouble trying to install NOD32 4.0 beta (got a BSOD with endless restarts requiring restoring from a backup). On this build, no problem. The new alt-tab switching is cool (showing the highlighted program in the background) and so for no snap crackle and pop when running Creative Audigy 2. All in all, everything seems faster and with less glitches. It is nice to see the improvement. So far I am a happy camper.

Neil

did the same and all seems well...upgraded my 7022 build with the "fast torrent downloaded" build 7048...no issues yet...

I too am running this. It's running GREAT on an old P4 system with 512MB of ram. This is unbelievable. It runs as good or better than XP does on the same system. I can't wait until it comes out. I love Vista but 7 is a joy to behold.

I have a 4 year old PC and I'm impressed how fast Win 7 runs on it too. Win 7 runs rings around Vista even in Beat stage.

I hate it when I have to boot back up in Vista, because I can see the difference in performance.

I just finished reinstalling some apps after installing 7048 this morning. So far, it's fantastic. I think I'm going to put it on my old laptop (Pentium M 1.5Ghz, 1.5GB RAM) sometime this week.

Yes, 7048 is really stable. I have it on my Dell Inspiron 1525. I plan to upgrade from 7022 to 7048 on my little Dell Mini ATOM 9 netbook tonight. :) I'm loving this....

Well... I couldn't wait so I installed it last night. Less than 45 minutes from the time I put in the dvd until I was logged in and installing programs. Windows even found the right driver for my ATI Mobility Radeon 9000 video card, which was supposedly a problem in earlier builds. The only problem I'm having right now is that Windows can't seem to figure out the wireless card. It's an Intel PRO/Wireless 2100, which Intel stopped supporting sometime in 2005. I think I found a driver for it but won't be able to try it out until tonight.

I have installed (clean) 7048 yesterday and I am getting massive memory leaks? (I think). After about 10mins it just crawls to a virtual halt and I have to re-start. :( Looking in task manager, nothing is using CPU @ 100% or memory at large quatities. I don't know what could be causing this problem, all I know is that it's a shame 'cus 7 was performing so well for me on my older machine.

I am using exactly the same setup/programs etc. as with builds 7000/7022.

Never had this problem with 7000 or 7022, so it looks like I may have to drop back to 7022.
