Win 7 is only seeing 8 GB of RAM while 12 is installed

I have done so however, the 8 GB-usable phrase still persists.

Your situtation has been experienced by others. Rather than to give you some of the various reasons, I have provided you with som Q & A from a forum that had a similar question asked. Maybe one (you need just one) answer will help. If not successful, repost and I or others will try to provide alternative answers.

I don't know what I have done exactly but I see only 12 GB (without the 8GB-usable part )in my computer properties window! I think, though I am not sure, my machine is utilizing all the RAM installed after I ran Windows Memory Diagnostic.
